My Black Girls Who Read — and our extended book-loving fam — the wait is over! The Black Girls Who Read Summit is pulling up to Dallas, TX on Easter Weekend 2026 for a weekend of booksish fellowship, community service, vibes, and unforgettable memories.
 
Featuring a transformational keynote from ReShonda Tate and The Write Stuff, a powerful writer's workshop, with Naleighna Kai.
 
What to Expect
📖 40+ Authors & Industry Voices – From bestselling legends to rising stars, we’re bringing the stories you love right to you.
🎤 Workshops & Panels – Writing, publishing, and living the stories we want to see in the world.
🛍️ Vendor Marketplace – Shop bookish gems, luxe lifestyle finds, and exclusive BGWR merch.
🥂 VIP Treatment – Happy hour + celebrity meet & greet, upgraded swag, and the best seats in the house.
🎳 Summit After Party – We’re taking it to the bowling alley Saturday night! Good music, games, and a chance to kick it with authors and readers off the page.
🏆 Youth Creative Writing Awards – Watch our future storytellers shine during the closing celebration.
💡 Community Service Project – On Sunday, we’re giving back together. Join us after a church takeover as we step out of the conference hall and into the community to serve, uplift, and impact.
 
Summit Schedule
📍 Friday, April 3rd, 2026
Afternoon/Evening: Arrive at one of our 3 host hotels (1 near DFW Airport & venue, 2 near the fun).
4:00PM - 6:00 PM Welcome Happy Hour in the hotel lobbies (all attendees).
7:00 PM – Exclusive VIP Only Happy Hour with special guests + our spotlight authors.
 
📍 Saturday, April 4th, 2026 (The Crown Venue)
8:00 AM – VIP Check-In Opens
8:45 AM- General Admission Check-In Opens
9:30 AM – Opening Remarks
10:00 AM –12:00 PM Morning Writer’s Workshop / Vendor Marketplace open
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM – Lunch Available (Food Trucks and VIP Catered Lunch)
 
Marketplace closes from 12:30-1 for Authors to enjoy lunch, but the cash bar and entertainment opens for socializing.
 
1:00 PM – Vendor/Marketplace Resumes
2:00 PM- Author Headshots Station Opens
3:00 PM – Closing Ceremony featuring our Youth Creative Writing Award + Live Book Club Panel
4:00 PM – Networking & Social Hour
5:00 PM – Summit Wrap-Up
8:00 PM – Bowling After Party 🎳

Morning – Easter Service
Afternoon – Community Service and Wrap Up Celebrations (choose one) from 1pm-5pm
Bookbags and Brunch- Guests will enjoy a delicious brunch meal and a drink voucher, all while participating in our Backpacks & Books service initiative — filling backpacks with essentials and encouraging notes for local youth for our annual backpack drive.
Self Love & Spa Day- Guests will enjoy full access to thermal soaking pools at WorldSprings (official summit sponsor), steam rooms, foot baths, and wellness rituals inspired by global traditions — the perfect way to decompress after a powerful summit.
