Get to Know Us

Our mission is to cultivate a global community where Black women connect through reading, grow through shared experiences, and build lasting impact through literacy, culture, and collective power.

Black Girls Who Read exists to make reading a lifestyle, not a luxury, by creating accessible spaces for learning, conversation, and creativity. Through intentional programming, community-driven events, editorial storytelling, and philanthropic initiatives, we champion intellectual curiosity, personal growth, and generational legacy.

We believe books are a catalyst, but community is the outcome. Everything we build is designed to empower Black women to lead fuller lives, support one another, and invest in the future of literacy and storytelling.
