Here's What to Expect

Community & Connection

Black Girls Who Read was built on the belief that we are better together.

This is where community moves beyond conversation and becomes something you can feel—where you arrive as yourself and leave with people who truly see you. From our welcome soirée to the moments in between, every space is designed to foster real connection, shared experiences, and lasting relationships.

Creative Expression Through Literacy

We believe in the power of stories—the ones we read, the ones we write, and the ones we choose to live.

Through curated discussions, author moments, and immersive experiences, this weekend celebrates literacy as both an art form and a form of expression. Whether you’re an avid reader or an aspiring writer, this is your space to engage, reflect, and expand your voice.

Personal Growth & Becoming

This is your invitation to step into your next chapter.

Through thoughtfully designed breakout sessions and intentional programming, we explore what it means to grow beyond limitations, to honor who you are, and to become who you are meant to be. This is where mindset shifts happen, confidence is built, and new paths begin.

Legacy, Impact & Leadership

We are not just here to experience—we are here to pour back.

From writing letters of inspiration to engaging in mentorship and community-centered moments, this pillar is about extending our growth beyond ourselves. It is about leading with compassion, creating impact, and ensuring that the next generation feels seen, supported, and empowered earlier in their journey.
