About the event
The Black Girls Who Read Summit is back in 2027—and this time, we’re in full bloom.
After the success of our inaugural year, we are excited to return with even more opportunities for connection, conversation, and community. From expanded workshops to intentional BGWR Pride moments, this year’s experience is designed to pour into every part of who we are.
Friday sets the tone with an exclusive Writer’s Workshop and Soiree for our featured authors and writers, followed by a welcome happy hour at our host hotel. We’ll close out the evening with our signature BGWR Welcome Mixer—a full-room celebration where we show up in our BGWR gear, our lit bookish energy, and our community spirit.
Saturday is our full summit experience, featuring fireside chats, author meet-and-greets, and powerful conversations centered on empowerment, ownership, financial literacy and what it means to fully step into our next bloom. We’ll end the night…
